The Path

The path

Imagine waking up and you find yourself alone in the woods. Looking around you quickly realize you have no idea where you are at or which way to go. Despair begins to creep in and fill you with dread. Sitting down, elbows on knees, chin in hands, you notice ahead of you a path. Had it been there before? Where does it lead? At the foot of the path is a rock with something scrawled on it, a note.

"This way, my friend."

Despair fades as you begin down the path. Not too far into your journey you see another rock displaying a note, "Careful here, this area is slippery. I have the bruises to prove it." You slowly make your way over the area with added caution, slipping slightly, but thankful for the warning.

Continuing down the path you come across more notes guiding you around more risky areas along the way.

Eventually, you find your way out of the woods. Looking back at the path you traveled, you recall the many times you were saved from certain misfortune by the notes on the rocks along the way. There were a few hazards with no rock warnings and for those you left your own rock note for those who may follow you.

Now, out of the woods, things are better. Yet, you know this is just the beginning. Will there be more notes on rocks? Will you leave notes for others?
